Treasuries are moderately higher across the curve this morning from yesterday’s close. The UST10-year yield is currently at 2.697% after closing at 2.724% prior.
Treasuries advanced at the start of today’s session, while U.S. stocks pushed higher for a fifth straight day with market sentiment earning a boost from corporate results and decent economic data. Markets are relatively calm despite the looming unresolved trade negotiations between U.S. and China. President Trump will deliver his second State of the Union address later today, and investors will be watching closely for clues on the outlook of foreign trade. Elsewhere, West Texas oil inched lower as traders weighed output cuts from the OPEC production members against expectations for rising U.S. crude inventories. Earnings season continues with reports this week from Twitter, Disney, Philip Morris and MetlLife.
