Market opened today’s session with 10-Yeartreasury yield at 2.169%, 1.7 bps increased from prior closing of 2.152%.
New York Fed President William Dudley’s positive comments on the US economy and gradual tightening of monetary policy drove the treasury yields up early this morning.
We have a fairly light economic calendar ahead of us this week with no event scheduled for today. There are Mortgage Applications and Existing Home Sales to be released on Wednesday, Jobless Claimson Thursday, and New Home Sales on Friday. We do have a handful of Fed speakers this week including Chicago Fed President Charles Evans discussing current economic status and monetary policy at 4:00 PM (PT) today.

The curve has bear-flattened with UST 10-Year yield up 1.7 bps.
